Beverly Hills Recap
March 20, 2007
Returning to the field for the first time after the tragic loss of David Hixenbaugh, father of middie Brandon Hixenbaugh, the Palos Verdes Sea Kings played the Bay League’s 2nd place team, Beverly Hills. The Normans were sporting a new turf field and the Sea Kings found it to their liking. Playing in memory of “Hix,” Palos Verdes would not be denied and again exposed the depth that has gained them the No.1 position in the Bay League standings.

The Sea Kings came out pre-heated and ready to score. PV head coach, Lane Jaffe, said, “This is the best I have seen the boys play! It was an inspiring display of team work.” Unlike previous season games at Beverly Hills which were determined in overtime, the Sea Kings were up 10-1 at half time and added another 4 goals by the end of the game.

Beverly Hills found the Sea King defense unwavering. The Norman’s had opportunities with the ball via running face-off’s midway through the third quarter. However, the swarming defense of Palos Verdes did not let up and held Beverly Hills scoreless for the remainder of the game.

Palos Verdes had 5 players score and 4 assisting. Leading the scoring with five goals apiece were Jon Spangler and David Scott. Nolan Semel had two goals and Tim Yang along with Andrew Pandora added a goal apiece. Assists courtesy of Sammy Romer, Ryan Rheingold, Jon Spangler and David Scott.
